Wicked Woods Music Festival is committed to providing a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for all, regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age or mental or physical disability.
All persons entering the site are subject to a search for illegal and or unauthorized items which are expressly forbidden on the Site and subject to confiscation. Illegal or unauthorized items include, but are not limited to: glass, all found alcoholic beverages, pets, drone recording devices, laser pointers, weapons or objects that could be used as weapons.
Wicked Woods Music Festival does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal and/or identifiable information.
Included because of reasonable and justifiable infringements on applicable Human Rights legislation in Canada protecting a person against discrimination based on that person’s ‘record of conviction’. Therefore; Wicked Woods does not enforce criminal record checks, therefore hearsay does not apply at Wicked Woods Music Festival.
That being said an individual can not, and will not be removed based on the verbal complaint of another and said complaint can not be the reason a person is removed from Wicked Woods Music Festival. Unless an Individual at the festival is not complying with the code of conduct, then said individual is allowed to be at Wicked Woods Music Festival.
Acts of sexual discrimination, intimidation, harassment and assault are not tolerated by Wicked Woods Music Festival at any time.
Wicked Woods withholds a commitment to address sexual violence and rape culture, and to counteract harmful stereotypes and attitudes that come with this difficult and very real topic.
Patrons and Staff must conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of Wicked Woods Music Festival. Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative. Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour. Be mindful of your surroundings and your fellow participants. Alert event security if you witness unacceptable behaviour.
Staff are informed about post-assault protocols, the risk of sexually transmitted infection in cases of sexual assault, and the need for survivors to seek medical treatment such as post-exposure prophylaxis, a preventative treatment.
Wicked Woods has effective responses to sexual assault which include providing compassionate, nonjudgmental and trauma-informed care to survivors through our medical team, as well as referral to hospital, sexual assault support services (e.g., community-based victim services) and police if desired.
Survivors of sexual violence can get support through VictimLinkbc.ca or 1-800-563-0808. Be a part of the prevention and help to cease the large volumes of harassment that happen at events like this. Keep an eye on your peers, and contribute to this not only through refraining from engaging in unwanted behaviour yourself, but by supporting others you see experiencing forms of harassment, or feeling unsafe notions at any time.
Wicked Woods Staff is always available, and ready to help participants contact venue security or first aid who can assist to contact local law enforcement, providing escorts, or otherwise assisting those experiencing harassment to feel safe during their time at Wicked Woods Music Festival.
We have in place a full harm reduction area, which includes Ankors drug testing, A sanctuary that is a safe space along with Security and First Aid. These are all set up in the DownTown of Wicked Woods; they are always there and ready to help, with first aid and security operating 24 hours.
Wicked Woods Music Festival reserves the right to non-disclosure of any concerns received within an incident report. This is to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of those involved. As such, any actions taken to keep Wicked Woods staff, vendors and/or patrons safe and in alignment with our values will be carried out at our discretion.
Respect and realize your own needs, ask for help or clarification. Take the time or space you need to be fully present and rested. Engage in constructive dialogue, and be open and understanding to one's needs.
Social Misconduct will not be tolerated by Wicked Woods, Examples of such conduct might include offensive posts or comments meant to intentionally harm someone's reputation or posts that could contribute to a hostile environment based on race, sex, disability, religion, financial status or any other status protected by law or company policy.
In cases of corruption, theft, embezzlement or other unlawful behaviour. Immediate removal from the festival grounds and a permanent ban will be given, along with the possibility of legal action.
Acts of Defamation will not be tolerated in any aspect or form. Defamation is the oral or written communication of a false statement about another that unjustly harms their reputation. This may include, but is not limited to; An individual or group making unpleasant comments about a third party that he or she knows to be false. Such statements can only be made out of malice, to harm others.
Acts of Slander may include but are not limited to; making unfavourable comments about Wicked Woods or the Wicked Woods team will not be tolerated, and could lead to the potential of removal, and or a permanent ban from any or all Wicked Woods events effective immediately. All incidents that lead to removal, will result in a 400 minimum restriction from the festival grounds.
Wicked Woods Music Festival is not held responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items. Lost and found items can be located at the human resources building downtown at Wicked Woods Music Festival. Lost items left behind are not the responsibility of Wicked Woods and are therefore considered abandoned.
All lost and found items will be available for retrieval during the event and three days post-event. If an item has been lost or stolen a report can be made at human resources, with a name and phone number to contact if said items are found. Wicked Woods Music Festival is not responsible for the mailing and or costs associated with the mailing out of any lost and found items that were not retrieved at the festival grounds. All festival goers are responsible for their property and ensuring their belongings are locked up and in a safe place.
NO OPEN FLAME of any kind is permitted at Wicked Woods Music Festival, Anyone found in contravention of a fire prohibition may be fined up to $1,150. If your fire escapes and results in a wildfire, you may be fined anywhere from $100,000 to $1 million and be sentenced to one year in prison. Review the full list of wildfire-related violation fines in B.C. through the Government of British Columbia website. This is included but is not limited to, barbeques, propane fires, stoves, torches, and unapproved fire performance gear.
Wicked Woods Music Festival values all participants, patrons, staff, volunteers and everyone that makes this show possible every year, we always want to ensure the absolute safety of everyone who attends our festival. As stated previously if you or someone you know notices, sees or hears about any violations of the Wicked Woods code of conduct: or sexual misconduct, contact an event staff member, and or security guard immediately
BY PARTICIPATING IN WICKED WOODS MUSIC FESTIVAL YOU ARE TO COMPLY AND ADHERE TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT TO ENSURE A SAFE AND COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE AT WICKED WOODS MUSIC FESTIVAL AND ALL RELATED SOCIAL EVENTS. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS, WITH A 400-DAY MINIMUM RESTRICTION TO RE-ENTER. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY ALSO LEAD TO A PERMANENT BAN FROM WICKED WOODS MUSIC FESTIVAL AND ALL ASSOCIATED EVENTS.
